Defying expectations and breaking conventional molds, 37-year-old Dubai-based cryptocurrency trader Eunice Wong was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2026, outshining 12 other exceptional finalists.
Originally from Johor, Eunice Wong’s victory marks a milestone moment as she prepares to proudly carry the Malaysia Boleh spirit to the global stage for the upcoming Miss Universe 2026 pageant in Puerto Rico next month. She officially takes over the crown from Miss Universe Malaysia 2025, Sandra Lim.
Her journey to the crown was nothing short of inspiring. Competing in a rigorous field while carving out a successful career in the male-dominated fintech and cryptocurrency sectors, Wong proved that passion and determination transcend boundaries.
A Night of Fierce Competition and Sisterhood
The grand finale also celebrated the incredible achievements of the runner-ups:
- First Runner-Up: Sapphire Wong, a mother of three from Kuching, Sarawak, who captured hearts with her grace and resilience, backed by a passionate cheering squad.
- Third Place: Amreet Kaur from Perak.
- Fourth Place: Emanuelle Mah from Bukit Jalil.
Speaking to Kr8tif Express at the post-event press conference, an ecstatic Eunice shared that she initially thought Sapphire Wong had clinched the title, given her fierce competition, rigorous physical fitness training, and immense local support from the Sarawak State as well as the local pageant community.
Overwhelmed with gratitude, Eunice expressed deep appreciation for her loyal fans, family, and National Director Ayu Omar. She credited her success to relentless hard work and personal sacrifices during her brief yet impactful pageant journey, adding that she is fully focused and determined to make Malaysia proud in Puerto Rico.
Grace in Defeat and Unity
The spirit of sisterhood shone brightly behind the scenes. First runner-up Sapphire Wong was seen embracing National Director Ayu Omar in tears of joy and gratitude after the press conference. Reflecting on her journey, Sapphire expressed complete satisfaction with the results and offered high praise for the newly crowned queen.
Sapphire emphasized that Eunice was not only the right choice to represent Malaysia on the international stage, but also a formidable contender capable of making a massive impact at the Miss Universe 2026 Grand Finals in Puerto Rico.
As Eunice Wong sets her sights on Puerto Rico, Malaysia watches with bated breath, ready to cheer on a queen who redefines modern ambition, resilience, and grace.
