JCI Petaling Jaya (JCI PJ) recently held its 44th Installation & Awards Banquet on International Women’s Day, themed “44th Radiant Heritage Night: Embracing Culture and Empowering Women.” The event honored the organization’s leadership transition while celebrating Malaysia’s cultural heritage and the impactful contributions of women in leadership.

Distinguished guests such as YB Lee Chean Chung, Diamond Sponsor Chong Li Ken, and Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi graced the occasion, adding prestige to the celebration. Held at the Elite Grand Ballroom in Petaling Jaya, the event saw the official installation of the 2025 JCI PJ Board of Directors, alongside an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding members and partners. Emphasizing cultural pride, attendees embraced modern Batik and elegant Kebayas, reflecting Malaysia’s rich traditions.

Newly appointed President Mikasa Chong outlined her vision for 2025, centered on the theme “Connect, Collaborate, Change, Commit.” She emphasized her commitment to strengthening relationships, fostering innovation, and driving impactful change, with key initiatives focused on empowering young entrepreneurs, promoting sustainability, advancing women’s leadership, and enhancing international collaborations.

Adding to the evening’s significance were prominent figures such as Datuk Seri Nelson Kwok and Datin Winnie Loo, whose support reinforced JCI PJ’s mission and milestones. In her closing remarks, Mikasa reminded attendees that JCI is more than an organization—it is a movement shaping the next generation of leaders.

Looking ahead, JCI PJ has lined up impactful initiatives, including the Community Sustainability Project, aimed at promoting waste reduction and environmental awareness; the JCI PJ Up – Finance & LHDN E-Invoice Compliance Workshop, tailored for SMEs; the Flying Dragon Ambassador Program, strengthening youth connections between Malaysia and Hong Kong; and the International Children’s Drawing Contest (ICDC), providing a platform for young artistic talent.

These programs reflect JCI PJ’s ongoing commitment to community development and leadership empowerment, inviting both local and international participation in its mission to shape future changemakers..
