The stage is set for another electrifying week of world-class badminton as the Badminton Association of Malaysia and PERODUA officially unveil the return of the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026.
Taking place at the Unifi Arena from May 19 to 24, 2026, the Super 500 tournament is poised to deliver one of its most exciting editions yet, backed by a USD500,000 prize pool and a stellar lineup of global badminton talent set to converge in Kuala Lumpur.
Now entering its eighth consecutive edition under PERODUA’s title sponsorship, the tournament continues to strengthen its position as one of the premier stops on the BWF World Tour calendar, reflecting the long-standing collaboration between BAM and the national automaker in elevating Malaysian badminton on the global stage.
The 2026 edition arrives amid a resurgence in Malaysian badminton, with national standouts including Chen Tang Jie, Toh Ee Wei, Pearly Tan, M. Thinaah, Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun expected to headline the home contingent alongside leading international competitors.

Datuk V. Subramaniam said, “Reaching the eighth consecutive edition of the Malaysia Masters with PERODUA as our title sponsor is something we take great pride in. This tournament has grown in stature year after year, supported by the continued commitment of PERODUA under the leadership of Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad. We look forward to another chapter that inspires the nation.”
Meanwhile, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to Malaysian sports development.
“The Malaysia Masters has earned its place as one of the most anticipated events in the global badminton calendar, and we are honoured to continue playing a role in that story alongside BAM. For PERODUA, this is more than a sponsorship – it is a reflection of our belief in Malaysian talent and our commitment to the sport’s future in this country,” he said.

Adding to the anticipation surrounding this year’s tournament is the recent success of Malaysia’s badminton contingent on the international stage. Mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei enter the tournament riding a wave of momentum following a historic triple-title sweep for Malaysia at the Indonesia Masters, marking the country’s first achievement of its kind at a single Super 500 event since the introduction of the BWF World Tour era.
Expressing their excitement ahead of the home tournament, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei said, “We want to thank PERODUA for making this event possible. After the Indonesia Masters, the confidence in our camp is high — but we know that playing at home comes with its own kind of pressure and privilege. The Malaysian crowd is like no other, and we are absolutely fired up to perform for them. Come down to Bukit Jalil — let’s make this one unforgettable.”
With heightened momentum surrounding Malaysian badminton and growing anticipation among fans, the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026 is expected to deliver not only elite sporting action, but also another defining moment for the nation’s badminton legacy on home soil.
