MusicWerks Studio announced Animenia, a groundbreaking music festival that promises to captivate audiences and push the boundaries of orchestral performances. Animenia 2024 co-organised by The Magic Rain and supported by MyCreative Ventures and the Ministry of Communications, expected to be an unforgettable and one of a kind musical experience, staged at Tropicana Gardens Mall Convention Centre on the 27th July 2024. This was announced by Animenia founder and accomplished Malaysian songwriter & producer Sharon Paul, at a press conference and media preview showcase held at the GSC Cinema, Tropicana Gardens Mall, this morning.
The main event will feature a fusion orchestra that encompasses an extraordinary blend of classical orchestration and contemporary sounds, creating a vibrant and dynamic musical experience for all anime music lovers. Raja Farouk Live (RFL) a 30-piece orchestra composed of up-and-coming musicians from diverse musical backgrounds in the local anime, cosplay, and gaming scene will take center stage to perform an eclectic mix of compositions that seamlessly bridges the divide between traditional and modern instruments, vibrantly re-imagining the anime and games music we know and love. Raja Farouk Live featured the vocal talents of Afir, Leena, Binyun, Delphine, Kaoru, Kazuki, and many more talented voices!

Besides orchestral performances, this concert also featured six J-Rock Tamashi bands during the day. The bands that performed include L.E.S.S., Tabako Neko, Grand Endeavour, Za Shinsei, Moshi Hoshi and Ignight. “We are excited to bring this innovative and exhilarating music format to this community,” expressed Paul, who is also the owner of MusicWerks Studio, the organizers of the much heralded festival.
Festival goers can also participate in a host of fun activities including a Wasabi Challenge presented by Sakae Sushi, a kids cosplay competition, an ACG singing competition, and explore the merchandise, arts and crafts booths from various local vendors and creators.

The festival also focuses on empowering local musicians: The fusion orchestra boasts a line up of talented musicians who are homegrown musicians within the anime, cosplay, and gaming community itself, bringing together a wealth of experience and passion for musical experimentation. Sharon Paul also joined the orchestra for an unforgettable collaboration.
The well-attended press conference was followed by a preview showcase by well-known anisong singers MinRi, Rina-Hime and Tato Queen, performing Akuma No Ko from Attack of the Titans and Gunjou, a song inspired by Tsubasa Yamaguchi’s manga Blue Period.Also performing during the preview showcase was Malaysian JRock band Za Shinsei, who performed Nandemonaiya from the anime Kimi no Na Wa and Pretender, a hit song by Japanese pop rock band Official Hige Dandism.
