MONEY GAMES (半斤百两), one of the most highly anticipated films of the 2025 Lunar New Year season, made its grand premiere at The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur. Featuring a stellar lineup of Hong Kong and Malaysian stars, the event kicked off the festive movie season in style.
The highlight of the evening was the red carpet event at Sunlight Plaza, TRX City Park, and AURUM, The Exchange TRX. The celebration began with a vibrant lion dance, welcoming film stars, fans, media, and industry professionals. Distinguished guests included FINAS CEO Dato’ Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib and Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of Communications, YB Teo Nie Ching, who praised the film’s timely anti-scam message and its contribution to the local film industry.
Directed by Matt Lai, MONEY GAMES boasts an all-star cast, including Malaysia’s box office favorite Jack Lim, Hong Kong’s award-winning actor Eric Tsang, TV icon Bobby Au-Yeung, and singer-actor Edmond So. The film also introduces rising talents such as Steady Gang—Zhu Haoren, Tomato, and Ah Ya—alongside Wayne Thong, Sandra Lim, Jacqueline Tiang, and Jovi Heng.
This gripping thriller dives into the dark world of financial fraud, following an anti-scam leader, played by Eric Tsang, and his team as they infiltrate a criminal syndicate to expose a massive conspiracy and unravel a 20-year-old murder mystery.
Ahead of the premiere, Bobby Au-Yeung’s early arrival in Malaysia helped build excitement, and the cast will continue their nationwide promotional tour with roadshows and meet-and-greet events.
