SME Malaysia had a successful event announcing the Platinum Business Awards 2022 (PBA), officiated by Tan Sri Noh Bin Haji Omar, The Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, on June 28 2022.
PBA 2022 (formerly known as SME Recognition Award) is an annual award programme organised by the SME Association of Malaysia to honor SMEs and individuals for their outstanding achievements and contributions in the respective fields.
Launched in 2002 as one of the pioneering awards for SMEs in Malaysia, PBA has gained reputable recognition among SMEs, the business community, and the public sector. Apart from showcasing the achievements of Malaysia’s top SMEs, PBA 2022 is a local premium awards platform to benchmark the business performance and quality standards of SMES and individuals in Malaysia in 18 categories by nomination and 4 categories by invitation.
Award nominees undergo a thorough assessment process which includes auditor site visits, culminating in the selection of winners by a Selection Board chaired by Tan Sri Michael Yeoh, President of KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, joined by other captains of industry.
Four new categories – SME Environmental, Social, and Governance Adoption Award, SME IR 4.0 Adoption Award, SME Business Resilience Award, and SME Sustainable Development Goals Excellence Award – have been introduced to highlight the growing relevance of ESG, sustainability, and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 to SMEs.
The award show is organised by SME Malaysia and audited by SFAI Malaysia, with Fusionex as technology partner and Skynet Worldwide as the official courier.
PBA2022 is now open for nominations until 31 August 2022 and nomination categories can be found on SME Malaysia’s website.
