Mr Chng stated, “Penang has not been spared the wrath of Covid-19 and as we are all trying to pick up and live life with as much normalcy as possible in this pandemic, it is time for Penang to rise again; to show the world that we have survived the tough times, to remind the world that now is the time to visit Penang, be it for a holiday, to stay, study or invest in – akin to the rebirth of the magnificent phoenix emerging from its ashes, stronger and even more majestic than its previous form.”
During the launch, the Chief Minister of Penang, YAB Chow Kon Yeow, relayed his speech by congratulating the publisher for commemorating Penang’s 50 years of industrialization by writing such a story in a timely production while recognizing the efforts throughout the 50 years. Quoted from YB Yeoh, “I have every confidence that our existing electrical and electronics industry, supported by the services sector will ensure that Penang continues to move ahead in becoming a greater economic powerhouse whilst remaining steadfast in achieving our Penang 2030 vision of a family-focused green and smart state that inspires the nation,” he added.
The launch was accompanied by the attendance of YB Dato’ Haji Abdul Halim bin Haji Hussain, Dato’ Seri Lim Cheah Chooi, Dato’ Goh Teng Whoo and many more as they were among the 100 invited guests which consisted of influential leaders, business-owners and dynamic entrepreneurs from the various industries.
