Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MoTAC), through its agency Tourism Malaysia, launched the Interactive Digital Brochures, a microsite that breathes new life into the rebranding of the digitization aspect of Tourism Malaysia brochures through interactive browsing at e-brochures.malaysia.travel.
YB Dato ‘Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture who was present to launch the site said, for a start, five Tourism Malaysia digital brochures most popular with tourists have been uploaded on the site, namely Malaysia Travel Guide, Kuala Lumpur the Dazzling Capital City, Langkawi the Jewel of Kedah, Islands and Beaches and Adventures with Nature.
In contrast to the publication of e-brochures in pdf format which can only be downloaded and printed, the all-new digital version of the brochure on the site now incorporates various multimedia elements such as text, audio, graphics, animation, and video for more effective information delivery.
The site is user-friendly and more responsive, thus, making it easier to access the brochure via mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, or laptops. The content of the digital brochure is also easily shared through various other applications such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and even email.
In addition to adopting Google Analytics for data analysis and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) friendly nature for wider reach, the site is specially designed with a more modern and stylish look, that can also be updated instantly.
YB Dato ‘Sri Hajah Nancy is calling for the public to take advantage of the information available on the interactive site and take the opportunity to plan a safe holiday with the family by complying with the SOPs set. “This site utilizes Google Maps links to help tourists and tour operators to plan trips, choose suitable accommodation and find out the facilities around it such as petrol stations, restaurants, parking facilities, and hospitals,” she said.
