Datuk Ken Phua, Group Managing Director & Board Member of Bentley Music, has taken the helm as the new President of the Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA). The announcement was made at MRCA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 18 April 2024, at the Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur.
With his extensive experience in retail and entertainment, Phua’s appointment signals a significant shift in MRCA’s leadership, poised to bring pragmatic changes to Malaysia’s retail scene. Phua’s background in Bentley Music showcases his leadership abilities, marked by innovation and customer focus.

His transition to MRCA’s presidency positions him as a capable leader ready to address the industry’s challenges head-on. “I’m very happy and elated to take up this responsibility, I will do my best to serve everyone in this association,” Phua stated after his official appointment.
As President, Phua aims to prioritize the growth and sustainability of MRCA’s members. He plans to advocate for better business environments and foster collaboration among retailers. Embracing digital transformation is also on his agenda, recognizing the importance of e-commerce and data-driven strategies in today’s market.
