Southeast Asia’s leading trade event – International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM) returned last week with leading companies occupying over 400 exhibition booths. Organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) and Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), this year’s event marked its 14th consecutive year with the theme “Race Towards Net Zero: Leadership For Climate Action.”

With a stellar track record of RM41 billion in business leads and 530,00 visitors since 2010, IGEM 2023 was targeted to gain RM4 billion in business leads and 40,000 visitors from over 40 countries this year. Minister of NRECC, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said, “At a time when climate action is fast gaining traction, IGEM 2023 is indeed timely, significant, and impactful in converging our efforts in our Race Towards Net Zero. I am pleased by the turnout of exhibitors, speakers, delegates, trade attachés, corporate leaders, and business visitors, as it reflects not just the popularity of IGEM but also the urgency towards climate action.”

Additionally, numerous Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Malaysian and international parties during IGEM 2023, reinforcing their commitment to the regional green economy. Furthermore, attendees were also provided with popular business networking sessions arranged by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), and MGTC.
