Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Minister of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM), Tan Sri Annuar Musa  recently officiated the Keluarga Malaysia Creative Community Exploration Programme (Ekspresi@FINAS). The event held at Merdeka Studio Complex, FINAS Hulu Kelang on 23 and 24 October was organized by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) as an effort to establish industry development and a network with the creative community to popularize film nationally and globally.

An array of activities were held for the 30,000 visitors who attended the 2-day program. The activities held featured the main components of expression which were Talent Expression, Art Expression, Mind Expression and Community Expression. Some of the activities that were held at Ekspresi@FINAS were production company auditions, background noise auditions, local film appreciation showings, industry involved Townhall sessions featuring KWSP, PERKESO and many others.

JOM PITCH! session was also held which was a session whereby individuals pitched ideas for Keluarga Malaysia themed Micro Funds. The winner was selected during the closing ceremony where they received funds worth RM5,000.

FINAS chairman Datuk Seri Zurainah Musa said, “When we have programs such as this, we want to make the community interested in having fun while giving them the platform to discover their passion in the creative industry.”

Grand Prize of Lucky Draw Contests

Lucky draws were also provided by FINAS where the main prizes included a Proton Saga 1.3L Standard car, three motorcycles, a variety of electrical appliances and hotel packages. FINAS also presented the opportunity to vendors in the industry to sell their products at 37 booths. A collaboration with the Ampang Jaya City Council was also made to offer compound discounts up to 80% at counters throughout the program.
