Returning after 3 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, EFE Expo Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of the Malaysian Furniture Council (MFC) welcomed visitors to the Export Furniture Exhibition 2023 (EFE) at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 7 March – 10 March 2023 for its 16th edition since 2005.
Bringing bigger and better, the exhibition was hosted in space spanning over 45,000 sqft. YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia cum Minister of Plantation and Commodities (MPC) officiated the opening ceremony together with VIP guests including ambassadors and high commissioners from foreign nations, leaders from associations and business chambers, senior officers from the ministries and government agencies together with the members of the media.
Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah said, “The government is committed to developing the national timber and timber products by bolstering the ‘Made in Malaysia’ brand for the international market. This is in line with the National Agri commodity Policy 2021 – 2023 (DAKN) estimating the export value of downstream timber products by 2025 to be RM19 billion.”
Mr. Chua Chun Chai, chairman of EFE cum former Malaysian Furniture Council President shared, “EFE 2023 drew inspiration from other mega international events and we realized that a comfortable atmosphere together with the availability of multiple choices is the way forward for all buyers, foreign and domestic alike. This time around, there will be activities arranged for visitors involving the unveiling of new furniture products as well as collections for them to experience the latest furniture trend after COVID-19.”
