Supplying innovation to Malaysia’s hospitality, tourism, and retail industry, Malaysians can look forward to experiencing next-level tourist and customer experience with the collaboration of Diverse Supply Chain Sdn. Bhd. (DSC) together with local industry players, namely – Malaysia Budget & Business Hotel Association (MYBHA), Malaysia Tourism Agency Association (MATA), and the ASEAN Retail-Chains and Franchise Federation (ARFF) to integrate next-level, high-technology, and fully mobilized service robots in hotels, for the first time in Malaysia; while at the same time, supplementing the retail service providers and tourism outlets with robotic technology to further enhance productivity.
Over the years, the adoption of service robots has gained momentum in many Malaysian food and beverage (f&b) outlets to enable unmanned service due to the advancement of robotics in the ASEAN region. Kickstarting its journey to developing Malaysia as a high-technology and innovative country, DSC will be distributing the all-new BUTLERBOT W3, among other AI-powered robots created by Keenon. Robotics Co. – the industry leader that services close to 50% of China’s robotic demands, to hospitality, food & beverage, retail, and healthcare players in Malaysia and Singapore.
Mr. Enzo Wang, Regional Sales Director (Southeast Asia) of KEENON Robotics, commented, “We are delighted to be able to help support the Malaysian hospitality, tourism, and retail industry to increase productivity and deliver consistent guest experiences with our robotic solutions. The first year with DSC was fruitful and fulfilling and we thank them for believing in us and for further strengthening the partnership and cooperation with the neighboring country Singapore. We look forward to reimagining our futures together.”
The introduction of KEENON’s BUTLERBOT W3 is aimed to revitalize the tourism industry in Malaysia by delivering an unparalleled guest experience, with an emphasis on safety. The BUTLERBOT W3’s exceptional features, such as autonomous elevator use and zero-contact privacy-focused room delivery, make it the ideal solution for hotels and tourism businesses. This advanced technology exemplifies the company’s commitment to delivering efficient and elevated hospitality services to guests. With fully autonomous positioning and navigation systems, these service robots can adapt to various real-life scenarios and situations.
The deployment of service robots in the hospitality, tourism, and retail industry will also educate the workers on efficiency enhancement and strengthen their knowledge of the logistical and operational functions of robots. Not only does this nourish individuals with a solid foundation and give them opportunities to focus on more cognitive-oriented tasks, but this will also act as a practical complementary dimension to the value of the f&b providers, hotels, and retailers.
YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Ammar Abd. Ghapar, expressed saying, “It brings me pride to see our Malaysian corporations evolve and present their efforts to showcase Malaysia as an innovative nation to draw more visitors to our country with the ample amenities that are readily available. The collaboration between DSC, MYBHA, MATA, and ARFF is a prime example of what our country can achieve when combining tourism, hospitality, and retail with innovative robotic solutions. I have no doubt that the result of this collaboration will definitely help in keeping Malaysia up to speed with the world’s ever-changing development and promote Malaysia as a popular tourist destination that prioritizes the tourism experience.”
Mr. Kayden Ong, Managing Director of Diverse Supply Chain Sdn. Bhd. said, “Our decision to collaborate with multiple industry players is to display an elevated side of Malaysian innovation, starting with the hospitality, tourism, and retail industry. We want visitors to come to Malaysia and have an experience that is unmatched anywhere in the world. The signing of this MoU marks a significant milestone that will further drive us to spearhead Malaysia to greater heights. With Malaysia working its way to becoming a fully developed nation, we want to help empower companies, especially small and medium enterprises, to move up the value chain through automation and robotics. Automation in the workplace is now more important than ever as manpower is no longer as readily available as compared to before the Covid-19 aftermath.”
