The launch of CeraVe
CeraVe, a leading dermatological skincare brand globally, officially launched in Malaysia, bringing its six-core products to major pharmacies nationwide. Developed by dermatologists, CeraVe targeted prevalent skin concerns in Malaysia, offering solutions for sensitive, dry, and atopic dermatitis-prone skin by restoring the skin barrier.
The brand’s journey began in 2005, recognizing the importance of ceramides in maintaining healthy skin. Formulated with human skin-identical ceramides, fatty acids, and MVE technology, CeraVe provided long-lasting hydration and restored the skin barrier effectively.
L’Oreal Malaysia’s Dermatological Beauty Division’s General Manager, Ashlee Ng, highlighted the necessity of accessible dermatologist-backed skincare. CeraVe aimed to fill this gap, delivering effective solutions to Malaysians, especially considering the limited access to professional skincare recommendations in the country.

“As compared to regular moisturizers with a single release formulation, CeraVe’s unique MVE technology delivers and releases essential ceramides throughout the day after just one application, resulting in prolonged hydration. This helps with ensuring the skin is constantly hydrated and improving skin health. We are committed to expanding access to skincare products like CeraVe in Malaysia, while also empowering individuals with knowledge, as this will greatly contribute to improved skin health for many,” Ng added.
CeraVe’s unique MVE technology ensured continuous ceramide delivery throughout the day, promoting prolonged hydration and improved skin health. The launch event featured expert discussions on skin barrier health, underlining the importance of protecting and restoring the skin barrier for overall skin wellness.
CeraVe’s core products in Malaysia include Moisturising Cream, Moisturising Lotion, Foaming Cleanser, Hydrating Cleanser, AM Facial Moisturising Lotion with SPF 30, and PM Facial Moisturising Lotion. Visitors were invited to explore CeraVe’s product range at Bookmark, APW Bangsar from 1st to 3rd March, where they could also receive complimentary samples, skincare insights, and skin hydration analysis, along with moisturizing hand massages by visually impaired masseuses.
