Organized by The World Brands Foundation (TWBF), The BrandLaureate Bumiputera Bestbrands Awards and World Halal Bestbrands Awards 2022 recognized top local brands by awarding them The BrandLaureate 24K gold plated trophy along with an exclusive certificate during its gala dinner at The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. In conjunction with the awards ceremony, Dr. KKJohan, World President of The BrandLaureate, debuted his first-ever NFT portrait of himself titled – “Dr. KKJohan, King of Branding”. The NFT collection was made up of 5,000 mosaic pictures taken from the 15 years of DrKKJohan’s journey.

Dr. KKJohan, World President of The BrandLaureate, said, “Building a brand is like a marriage, you have to keep working on it to maintain and sustain the marriage. Protect your brand like you would protect your marriage to make your marriage a success. It is a matter of whether we are bold enough to get out of our comfort zone and adopt the right brand strategies so that we can take our positions.”
During the award ceremony, Dr. KKJohan congratulated the Great Bumiputera and Halal brand awardees by complimenting them as brand champions because they managed to overcome tough challenges, especially during the pandemic. He also quoted, “Everything about the business is the brand and everything about the brand is business.” With the appointment of the new 10 Organizing Chairmens, BrandLaureate is aiming to expand its awards on a different spectrum.

Alongside the BrandLaureate Bumiputera Bestbrands Awards and World Halal Bestbrands Awards 2022, National News Agency, BERNAMA, was awarded the Best Choice Industry ICON Brand Icon Leadership Award where YBhg Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi, Chairman of BERNAMA, gracefully received the award on stage.
